WHAT IS THE ONLINE ACADEMY (OLA) ?

OLA was set up by the Global Kidney Academy in 2010 to provide an open access Nephrology educational portal. OLA's mission is the democratisation of Nephrology education by making it accessible to the largest number of Nephrologists worldwide including many in emerging countries where education is not readily accessible.

OLA's philosophy builds on networking and education through network and peer learning mentored by an International Faculty.

OLA provides a range of up-to-date educational resources including Lectures, Publications Updates, Journal Club as well as Regular Blogs on hot topics by experts in the field.

OLA also features the unique daily clinical and topics discussions and mentoring on its Forum; these are accessible in a number of languages with dedicated Faculty and Moderators.

More recently, in 2013, OLA started to provide Nephrology Online Courses (NOCs) to deliver a range of courses to those who find accessing onerous education beyond their means. OLA's aims to bring continuous nephrology education (CNE) to the home of nephrologists worldwide and to encourage young nephrologists to learn from their daily work-based clinical experience through reflective learning and critical thinking.

Ultimately, OLA aims to foster a new generation of nephrology leaders and critical thinkers. Please join us and make use of the excellent facilities provided.
